Assistant Accountant | Central Exeter | Up to 33k DOE
Location: Exeter (Primarily office-based with potential for 1 day remote working)
Salary: Up to 33k DOE + Monthly Cash Allowance + Excellent Benefits

A fantastic opportunity has arisen with a highly innovative and fast-growing business based in Exeter for an Assistant Accountant. This is a great role for a part-qualified accountant or experienced finance professional to join a company that is disrupting a traditional industry with a fresh approach.
Working hours: 8:30 am to 5:30 pm with a 1-hour lunch break.
As Assistant Accountant, you'll work closely with the Financial and Management Accountant and CFO, playing a key role in supporting day-to-day financial operations and the delivery of accurate reporting. You'll also collaborate with wider teams to help maintain strong financial control and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Accountant:

• Daily bank and cash reconciliations, payment/receipt posting, and reporting
• Generating and uploading sales invoices and managing the sales ledger
• Chasing outstanding debt and maintaining accurate debtor records
• Inputting purchase invoices and assisting with payment runs
• Supporting the month-end process through journal preparation and reconciliations
• Administering the internal project database and client accounts
• Assisting with cost updates and regular financial reporting

Key Requirements of the Assistant Accountant:

• Ideally part-qualified (AAT, ACCA, CIMA) or with strong demonstrable experience in a similar role
• Familiarity with Sage is desirable, though not essential
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a busy, growing environment
• A proactive, collaborative team player with a problem-solving mindset
