As an Assistant Accountant you will support services by Providing routine Accounting Tasks, Maintaining Accurate financial records, and providing admin Support This role is essential in ensuring timely and accurate processing of financial transactions and adherence to financial policies.
To ensure continuous improvement of finance processes and related systems for Finance and its customers. Responsibilities include:
To provide support to the team by assisting with routine accounting tasks, writing and upload of journals and maintaining accurate financial records for the relevant areas.
To make recommendations for process improvement, particularly in relation to the routine administration tasks.
To support the team in providing detailed analysis for work associated with month and year end work, particularly in relation to both internal and external queries from auditors.
To provide advice and support to staff in Colleges, Professional Services and customers, verbally and in writing, interpreting existing policies, regulations and guidance as necessary.
To act as a member of the team, supporting the team in meeting its objectives.
To build and maintain effective working relationships with contacts in other areas of Finance, Estates and Commercial Services as well as in service areas and Colleges across the University or external bodies including participating in network or working groups to convey and receive information.
About you
We are seeking an Assistant Accountant wanting to develop their financial skills within our team, You will: -
Be Educated to A level or can demonstrate equivalent experience.
Have Knowledge of accounting techniques procedures and terminology.
Have Excellent numerical skills
Able to work accurately with close attention to detail.
Able to work to deadlines and work under pressure when faced with competing timescales.
Have had a wide range of administrative experience in a professional office environment.
Good IT skills, with experience of email, MS Office Word Excel, PowerPoint and data base systems with experience of manipulating data to produce basic reports
