ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT

Permanent, 35 hours per week

Glasgow Clyde College Finance Team

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our finance team, and to play an integral role in supporting both the finance function and the key stake holders both within Glasgow Clyde College, as well as external stakeholders, and help drive our financial success.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Assist in the preparation of timely Financial Statements and Management Accounts, including analysis, variance analysis and supporting commentary.

Aid and support the preparation and review of Annual Budgets, Quarterly Reforecasts, and the longer-term Financial Planning process.

Monitor and forecast Operational Cash Flow and assist with cash management and treasury activities.

Assist in the Year-End Audit process to ensure completion within pre-agreed timescales.

Assist where required in Internal Audits to ensure completion within pre-agreed timescales.

Act as a Business Partner, supporting Budget Holders in managing their Budgets.

Assist in the maintenance and development of the Finance functions Procedures, Processes, and Internal Controls.

Develop detailed knowledge of the Colleges Financial System and act as a system champion.

Requirements:

Recognised CCAB accounting qualification (Part or Fully Qualified), along with evidence of CPD.

Financial knowledge of FE sector is desirable.

Extensive experience of data reconciliation and analysis.

Experience of preparation of management accounts.

Experience of preparation of Budgets and Forecasts

Experience of preparation of Operational Cash Flows

Experience of advanced excel and computerised accounting systems.

Confident and clear communicator.
