Overview

Shoppertainment Management is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our busy and dynamic finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong accounting experience to play a key role in the smooth running of our financial operations.

The Role

You will support the Finance function by carrying out a wide range of accounting duties, including but not limited to:

Preparing and posting journals, accruals, and prepayments. Managing the purchase ledger, ensuring invoices are processed and approved accurately and on time. Handling credit control: maintaining debtor ledgers, issuing statements, and chasing overdue accounts. Assisting with the month-end and year-end close processes. Preparing and reviewing reconciliations (bank, supplier, debtor, and control accounts). Supervising and supporting Finance Assistants to ensure smooth daily operations. Supporting the audit process by preparing schedules, reports, and responding to queries. Assisting in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports for management. Liaising with senior management, providing clear financial insights and updates.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring-

At least 3 years' experience in a similar role. Proficiency in Sage Line 50 as well as Microsoft Excel and Word. Strong organisational skills with the ability to work flexibly, meet deadlines, and handle pressure. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A proactive, self-motivated, and detail-oriented approach.
