Job Description

Role Purpose: To prepare and produce key reconciliations, journals and schedules on a monthly basis. To assist with the preparation of IFRS and UK compliant financial statements, VAT, corporation tax and annual returns.



Wythenshawe (Manchester Airport)


Hybrid (3 days per week in the office)



Main Duties and Responsibilities



Monthly journal posting, prepare schedules/reconciliations and manage audit trail for all entries Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts for assigned Companies Monthly preparation of Intercompany Invoices to be shared with the wider group. Quarterly preparation of IFRS and FRS 102 compliant balance sheets to audit standard Assist in quarterly reconciliation of group currency and aging to be reported to head office Monthly preparation of invoice reconciliations and reallocation of costs To prepare information for internal and external auditors and support internal control measures Support all GL team objectives and provide absence cover for Senior Management Accountant and Assistant Accountant Operate in line with Bureau Veritas Core Values and Code of Ethics Assist the Senior Financial Accountant and Financial Controller with ad hoc projects. Prepare analysis for the PSA returns. Prepare Accrual and Prepayment Workings for booking


Experience & Skills Required



Previous experience of a General Ledger role, preferably in a large/complex co. or group of companies Experience of preparing high volume reconciliations & resolving differences e.g. bank, VAT, AR/AP controls Basic accounting skills and understanding of reporting principles, including revenue recognition, and cut off High level of IT literacy including advanced excel skills Preferred experience of JD Edwards/Flex, group reconciliation and reporting tools (e.g. ICS) Proven ability to prioritise and manage deadlines Excellent communication and attention to detail
