: Assistant Accountant

Rule Purpose:

To support the Financial Controller in maintaining the Company's accounting processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparation of monthly management Accounts; Assist in preparation of Annual Financial Statements; Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations and credit card analysis; Preparation and posting of monthly journals; Reconciliation of Balance Sheet Control Accounts; Preparation of VAT returns both UK & ROI; P&L analysis and commentary Provide support to the Financial Controller as required Intercompany Reconciliations Preparing and submitting VAT Returns, Intrastat and EC sales reports Stock reporting Provide cover for purchase ledger as required Support the annual audit process

Essential Criteria

Qualified Accounts Technician - (ATI) or Over 5 years working in a similar role Experience working within a busy finance team Customer service experience - through a variety of communication methods. An understanding of accounting processes and procedures High level of expertise in use of Microsoft packages including Excel and Word Ability to work to strict deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and ability to adapt to changing priorities. Able to manage a high-volume workload. Able to work in a fast-paced commercial environment Customer focused Have a methodical and meticulous work aptitude Self-motivated Clam and professional manner Able to operate outside core hours when required and travel to other sites on occasions.

Part qualified accountant (ACCA.ACA,CIMA)
