Summary

We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. This position will be based at Kineholme Renault of Otley, working alongside our Group Finance Manager. This role is essential in supporting our financial operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The Assistant Accountant will play a key role in maintaining our commitment to quality service and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Ensuring cash and bank reconciliations are completed accurately and financial records maintained. Reviewing vehicle debtors to ensure a clean month end cut off is maintained. Agreeing inter company balances at month end. Handling balance sheet reconciliations including Manufacturer accounts. Reviewing ledgers and working with colleagues to ensure completeness and accuracy. Assisting with the wider month end process culminating in the production of accurate and timely management accounts. Managing accruals and prepayments to ensure proper financial reporting. Managing vehicle write downs. Managing fixed asset ledgers including additions, disposals and monthly depreciation. Assisting with the reconciliation of stocks (including physical stocktaking) and vehicle funding. Signing off supplier invoices/statements and Purchase Ledger reconciliations. Providing support to the wider team.

Requirements

Proven experience in a similar role or be able to demonstrate ability. Proficiency in month end processes and balance sheet reconciliations. Familiarity with accruals and prepayments as well as the management of fixed asset registers. Attention to detail and analytical skills Advanced proficiency within Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. Strong communicator with a positive can-do attitude and a desire to achieve. Knowledge of Pinewood would be desirable.
We are looking for a skilled Assistant Accountant with experience of working in the Motor Trade industry is essential.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 3.50 pm.
