Assistant Accountant | Plymouth | 28,000 - 30,000 + Study Support

is delighted to be supporting a large and established business with the recruitment of a motivated and ambitious Assistant Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified AAT (or equivalent) finance professional to join a growing team that can offer genuine career development.

The role will include:

Supporting the month-end close Preparing and posting journals (prepayments, accruals, intercompany recharges, etc.). Producing and reconciling balance sheet accounts. Supporting VAT return preparation and ledger control. Maintaining fixed asset registers and assisting with compliance processes. Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and project work.
About you:

Ideally AAT qualified or studying towards it - study support is available. Previous experience working in a finance function, with good knowledge of core accounting processes. Strong Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems (desirable but not essential). A proactive approach, willing to take ownership and adapt to change. A team player with strong communication skills, able to liaise confidently with stakeholders across finance and the wider business.
