Job Title: Assistant Accountant

Location: Remote, with optional access to our Gloucester office

Salary: 28-30k

Contract: Full-time, 35 hours per week

About the role

We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. This is a great opportunity to support two innovative tech companies, Rippl and Loop, through their next stage of development.

You'll play a key role in ensuring our day-to-day financial operations run smoothly, assisting with everything from month-end close to invoicing and audit preparation. This is a varied and hands-on role for someone with a strong foundation in accounting who enjoys improving processes and working across teams.

About Us: River, Rippl and Loop
Rippl and Loop are SaaS businesses developed by River Software and now operating independently under the River Software Holdings group.

Rippl is a fully remote team delivering employee benefits and engagement software. Loop is an OEM dealer performance platform, with a core team based in Gloucester and employees working both remotely and in-office.
As part of the central finance function, this role will support all three entities (Rippl, Loop and River Software Holdings), collaborating closely with different teams across the group.

Key Responsibilities:

Month-end close: Reconcile balance sheet accounts including Bank, AP, AR, etc. Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepayments Maintain general ledger Manage intercompany cross-charging Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversee invoicing and credit control Process supplier payments and staff expenses Cross-functional Collaboration Liaise with CS team to ensure accurate data relating to revenue, billing, renewals etc. Provide ad hoc finance support across departments as needed Audit Assist with annual audit process
What we're looking for

Essential:

AAT Qualified or equivalent Experience with Xero or similar cloud-based accounting software Keen attention to detail, with a desire to improve efficiency Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently in a remote environment
Desirable:

SaaS revenue recognition experience to be able to assist with monthly revenue reconciliation
