Location: Rivers Hospital (Hybrid Working Available)



Contract: Full-Time, Fixed-Term (Flexible Hours - Term-Time/School Hours Considered)




Are you a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a passion for numbers and great communication skills? Rivers Hospital is seeking a dedicated Assistant Accountant to join our finance team on a full-time fixed-term basis, with flexible working arrangements available, including hybrid working, part-time (minimum 30 hours) and term-time or school hours.

The hospital has an excellent reputation for delivering high quality healthcare for patients with health insurance, patients who are self-funding treatment or NHS patients exercising choice through the e-referral system.

The Role




The Assistant Accountant will play a key role in delivering a comprehensive management accounting function. In addition to these core activities you will support the Heads of Finance in the completion of corporate returns, as well as ad hoc analysis as and when required. This is a practical role and is expected to have a meaningful impact on the running of each site.

Key Responsibilities



Assist with the production of monthly management accounts Production of timely and accurate statistical and financial information for a range of internal and external stakeholders Provide information and support to hospital managers and staff as and when required Time completion of bank reconciliations Undertaking support for hospital projects and initiatives, under the direction of the Head of Finance and Senior Leadership Team Deputise for the Head of Finance as and when appropriate Liaise with the Central Finance Function as and when required

What you will bring with you



Previous experience in a management accounting role (preferably in a Healthcare environment) Part qualified / working towards an accountancy qualification such as AAT or CIMA (desirable but not essential) Proven ability to work to deadlines Advanced Computer Skills (particularly Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business Demonstrated Customer Service skills in line with the Ramsay Way Vision and Values
