Assistant Bar Manager, Somerset


- Up to 40,000 per annum (Base salary of 32,445 plus estimated annual tronc of 6,600 - 7,600)

Working 48 hours per week, 5 days from 7. We are closed Monday and Tuesday, therefore your normal working week would be Wednesday to Sunday

Your Role as Assistant Bar Manager


As our Assistant Bar Manager with Artfarm in Bruton, Somerset, you'll be inspiring our team, leading by example and providing warm and genuine service. Supporting the bar team, you will learn and progress while bringing your own service experience to help us continue to be a well-recognised venue for quality cocktails, coffees and food. Daily duties include opening and closing procedures, cashing up and training team members. This isn't just working in any bar, though as we enjoy cooking on fire, serving cold drinks on our fantastic terrace and delicious food in the sun, as well as hosting plenty of community engaging events, which you will be part of.


It is always our duty to share our passion and knowledge with all of our guests and colleagues so we are looking for someone who enjoys hospitality and not just service. The Roth Bar is an iconic work of art with a team to match.

About Roth Bar

Roth Bar is situated at Hauser & Wirth Somerset, a pioneering world-class art gallery occupying a former farmstead in Bruton. The bar plays an integral part in the overall gallery experience. Roth Bar is a vibrant, informal celebration of Somerset and the West Country.



Artist Oddur Roth, grandson of the late German-born Swiss artist Dieter Roth, lived and worked in Bruton, UK between January and April 2024. Alongside his team they reimagined Roth Bar as a new fully functioning, site-specific artwork within the Threshing Barn at Hauser & Wirth Somerset. Inspired by the history of Durslade Farm, Roth Bar in Somerset is composed of salvaged materials and objects from reclamation yards in the surrounding area.



Enjoy signature and classic cocktails, wine from our vineyard and cider from our orchards, alongside reimagined Roth Bar favourites, snacks and sharing boards, pastries and sweets.
