Full-Time Assistant Manager - High-End Bistro Lounge Bar

We're opening a high-end bistro lounge bar - a vibrant new venue blending great food, premium drinks, and upbeat energy. Situated on The Broadway, one of Haywards Heath's most stylish streets, this is your chance to join an exciting new concept from day one and grow with the brand.

About the Role

As Assistant Manager, you'll work closely with the General Manager to help lead day-to-day operations across the bar and restaurant. You'll be hands-on, ensuring smooth service, motivating the team, and maintaining high standards. Whether it's a busy Friday night behind the bar or a relaxed brunch shift, you'll help make sure every guest leaves impressed.

You'll also take pride in our drinks offering - showcasing your knowledge of cocktails, premium spirits, and wines. From shaking signature serves to helping curate seasonal cocktail menus, you'll bring both flair and professionalism to the bar.

Key Responsibilities

Support the General Manager in running daily operations across both bar and kitchen Lead and motivate front-of-house and bar staff during service Oversee the preparation, presentation, and consistency of cocktails and drinks Maintain stock control and build relationships with drinks suppliers Handle staff rotas, training, and daily briefings Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and licensing standards Deliver excellent customer service and resolve issues calmly and professionally Contribute ideas to improve efficiency, sales, and team morale Step up to cover the venue in the GM's absence
What We're Looking For

Proven experience as a supervisor or assistant manager in a bar, pub, or restaurant setting Strong background in cocktails, wines, and premium drink service Confident leading a busy bar and supporting food service operations Excellent leadership and communication skills Reliable, organised, and proactive in problem-solving Passionate about hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences Must be based locally (within a 35-minute drive of Haywards Heath) Must be available to start immediately
