About the role:




We are looking for an Assistant Capital Accountant to join our dynamic and fast-paced Finance team based in Northampton. This role plays a key part in supporting the processing and accounting of property acquisitions, working closely with our Capital Accountant. The team focuses on transactional finance areas and collaborates across departments to ensure accurate and timely financial operations and you will gain exposure to a wide range of financial activities and work alongside experienced professionals who are passionate about what they do.



This role is based in our Northampton office with hybrid working arrangements of 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home, if required.



Duties include:


Supporting the preparation and processing of acquisition payments, ensuring all checks are completed before authorisation Coordinating with project managers to prioritise acquisition payments and manage weekly payment schedules Tracking payments using contract sum analysis (CSA) schedules Posting and reconciling acquisition-related invoices, including legal fees Preparing accounting entries for housing fixed assets Completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including solicitor bank accounts Assisting with SDLT and CIS returns and related reconciliations Preparing invoices for defect recharges and maintaining aged debtor analysis Producing monthly reports and supporting ad hoc accounting tasks as needed

About you



Either currently studying or demonstrating a strong interest in pursuing ACCA or CIMA qualifications Previous accounts experience Detail-oriented and proactive, with a professional approach Strong numerical and communication skills Collaborative and able to build effective working relationships Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.); experience with QL is a plus Organised and motivated to improve processes and practices
