Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in the preparation and cooking of meals, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards. Supervise kitchen staff during food preparation and cooking processes, fostering a collaborative team environment. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen space, adhering to food safety regulations and hygiene standards. Help manage inventory, including ordering supplies and monitoring stock levels to ensure efficient kitchen operations. Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and improve existing dishes based on customer feedback. Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, safety practices, and operational procedures. Assist in maintaining equipment and utensils, ensuring they are clean and in good working condition.

Requirements

Proven experience in a similar role within a fast-paced kitchen environment. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in culinary operations. Excellent communication skills with a focus on hospitality and customer service. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. A passion for cooking and culinary arts, with creativity in food presentation and flavour combinations. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required by the business needs.
