Job Description

On behalf of The Home Office, we are looking for a Assistant Commercial Manager(Inside IR35) for a 6 months contract based in London 2 days per week.

International Strategy & Capabilities (ISC) - unit within STAR. The specific team is the International Strategy, Engagement and Devolution Directorate (ISED). T



The International Strategy & capabilities (ISC) team delivers strategic commitments made on behalf of the HO and FCDO to other Governments as part of international collaboration.



In order to support delivery of this, commercial support is required to run procurements and create agreements with (e.g. Police / Fire services / independent third party specialists) in order to ensure capacity and capability can be delivered internationally.



As an Assistant Commercial Manager, your main responsibilities will be:



Support the development and execution of procurement strategies in line with PCR 2015 and departmental policies. Assist in managing contracts throughout their lifecycle, including performance monitoring, variations, and renewals. Engage with internal and external stakeholders across multiple levels to ensure alignment and delivery of commercial objectives. Contribute to market engagement activities and supplier relationship management. Ensure commercial activities are compliant with relevant legislation, including the Procurement Act 2023 (PA23) where applicable. Provide input into commercial risk assessments and mitigation strategies. Support international procurement projects with cultural awareness and sensitivity to overseas markets.

Essential:



Commercial experience of procurement and contract management under PCR 2015 regulations Valid SC clearance Cultural sensitivity to overseas markets Effective stakeholder management at multiple levels of hierarchy

Desirable:



Ability to deal with ambiguity PA23 experience International procurement experience.
