Summary

We are seeking an Assistant Cook to join our team at St Michaels Care Home. In this role, you will assist in meal preparation and food service, playing a vital part in ensuring our residents enjoy nutritious and delicious meals that contribute to their overall health and happiness.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to established recipes and dietary requirements. Ensure that all food is prepared in a safe and hygienic manner, adhering to food safety standards. Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas. Support the head cook in menu planning and inventory management. Serve meals to residents with care and attention to their preferences. Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen or culinary environment is preferred. Basic knowledge of food safety practices is essential. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills to interact with staff and residents. A passion for cooking and providing quality meals for others.
