An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Assistant Director Human Resources based in Rotherham with a leading Housing Association.

Salary: \xc2\xa3600.00 per day (37 hours per week)

37 hours per week over 5 days (although consideration will be given to part time working over a 4 day working week)

3 days to be worked on site at Riverside House at Rotherham

About the role

  • The postholder will be a key member of the Directorate Leadership Team (DLT). The Directorate is made up of Human Resources, Democratic Services, Communications and Marketing, Organisational Development and Change, Policy, Performance and Intelligence and Neighbourhoods.
  • The HR service provides expertise and advice on all employment and workforce matters to the directorates across the council, utilising a business partnering and consultancy model. The HR Service Centre provides first-line HR advice, payroll and transactional services to neighbouring authorities, schools, and other related organisations, generating income to the Council
  • The post holder will provide strategic and operational management and leadership to the service, reporting directly to the Assistant Chief Executive. They will also provide professional workforce related advice and briefings to senior political post holders enabling good decision making and governance. The postholder will also provide a strong sense of purpose and direction to counter national workforce challenges and to take forward opportunities.
  • The postholder will have a track record of leading and managing change to achieve improved outcomes in the delivery and transformation of services, including an ability to provide high level challenge and bring negotiating and influencing skills to communicate with stakeholders to deliver effective and successful partnerships. They will be creative and innovative in their thinking and promote service improvement and change when required. The post will lead experienced teams with a true partnership ethos and approach.
Requirements
  • Chartered Institute of Personnel Development
  • Level 7 qualification e.g. Post Graduate Certificates and Diplomas with extensive experience in the relevant specialist area and other related areas of work, or a wider range of areas Or Evidence of the equivalent level of knowledge gained through work experience
  • Demonstratable leadership skills and has a track record of leading high performing HR services or programmes and understands what good looks like
  • Able to deal with complex decision making involving high risk consequences and has the ability to engender trust and confidence with more senior decision makers about preferred options, recommendations and plans.
  • Able to provide leadership to ensure effective budgetary control of significant levels of finance, across a varied portfolio and an ability to develop long term sustainable strategic business plans.
