Role Overview

ADS Facades Ltd is seeking an Assistant Estimator / Assistant Quantity Surveyor with strong cladding and facade experience to support our commercial team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor on live and upcoming projects with tenders, assisting with cost control, estimating, procurement, and valuations across cladding, EWI, and facade packages.

This role is office based in Nottingham with hybrid working available once established.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Tender Support

Assist in the preparation of tenders for cladding, facade, EWI, and rainscreen systems Take off quantities from drawings and specifications Build up rates using labour, material, plant, preliminaries, and risk allowances Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing Assist with value engineering and alternative solutions

Commercial & Quantity Surveying Support

Assist with interim valuations, final accounts, and variations Support cost reporting and cashflow forecasting Maintain accurate cost records and tender trackers Assist with measurement, re-measurement, and substantiation Support change management and commercial correspondence Site visits where required

Project & Technical Support

Review drawings, specifications, and BoQs for buildability and commercial risk Assist with subcontractor procurement and comparisons Support compliance with contract requirements (JCT / NEC where applicable) Work closely with site teams and commercial management

Required Experience & Qualifications

Degree educated in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline Previous experience with estimating cladding and facades. Proven experience within cladding, facades, EWI, or external envelope works Strong understanding of facade systems (rainscreen, Rockpanel, brick slip, render systems, insulation, fire barriers) Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Good commercial awareness and attention to detail

Strong numerical and analytical skills Well organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks Confident communicator (written and verbal) Proficient in Excel and estimating software Willingness to learn and develop under senior guidance Team-focused with a proactive attitude
