Managed by Bellrock in partnership with Worcester Council and Worcester University, it is a dynamic and inspiring environment where excellent facilities management helps keep services running smoothly for all users.


We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Assistant Facilities Manager to support the delivery of hard and soft FM services at The Hive. Working closely with the Facilities Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the building operates safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.


A significant part of the role will involve supervising a team of caretaking staff, ensuring they are motivated, supported, and delivering excellent service to building users. You will act as a point of contact for staff, contractors, and stakeholders, helping to maintain a culture of professionalism, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

And as a Assistant Facilities Manager with Bellrock, you'll do it by

Day-to-day supervision of caretaking staff, including workload allocation, performance monitoring, and training. Supporting the Facilities Manager with the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance across the building. Acting as a first point of contact for FM queries, escalating issues where appropriate. Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and statutory requirements at all times. Liaising with contractors and suppliers to ensure work is completed to specification and within agreed timescales. Assisting with space management, room setups, and ensuring the smooth running of events within The Hive. Supporting reporting, audits, and inspections as required.

What does it take?

Previous experience in facilities management or building operations, ideally within a public, educational, or mixed-use environment. Strong supervisory skills with experience managing or coordinating staff. Knowledge of health and safety requirements in facilities management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, stakeholders, and customers. A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities. IT literate with good organisational and reporting skills.

Working arrangements

In this role, the successful candidate would be required to work from theWorcester Library, Worcester, WR1 3PB Generally Mon - Fri , occasional weekends, some shift work 8.30 - 5.00 (+on call rota).
