This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast paced and challenging finance function as Assistant Finance Manager, where you will report to the Senior Finance Manager for Financial Control & Strategic Projects. You will support the day-to-day financial accounting as well as acting as an advisor, providing financial expertise to the business. You'll be one of the key contributors to month-end and year-end reporting (including audit) and collaborate with other finance teams to promote understanding of accounting policies and processes. This role will also handle ad hoc financial reporting projects.
This role will suit someone who is recently ACA qualified, ideally with experience or exposure to the media industry.
The role is hybrid based, with 3 days in the Victoria office.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for preparing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining ongoing wider reporting on all balance sheet accounts and reconciliations
Responsible for posting journals within Financial Control
Support Financial Control team in devising & communicating accounting policies for key areas impacting the business
Build strong relationships with finance colleagues around the organisation to ensure transparency and accuracy in reporting of numbers, risks and opportunities
Supporting Financial Control team with the interim and year end audits and being a key contact for auditors
Upkeep and maintenance of accounting manual
Capex review and Fixed Asset Register maintenance and reporting
Calculating depreciation and posting additions and disposals of fixed assets
Essential Skills:
Qualified accountant from an audit background within a Top-10 practice with 1-2 years PQE
Preferably some experience working in financial reporting and control, specifically within FRS 102
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
Strong Excel skills
Proactive approach to work and problem solving
Confident communicator with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
Keen interest in working within the Media sector
