YOUR ROLE



Our finance team based in Ashby de la Zouch have an exciting opportunity for a detailed focused and highly organised Assistant Financial Accountant where you will assist in producing accounting information for management, group and legal reporting requirements.



This role will see you working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, we are offering hybrid working where you will work 3 days in our office in Ashby de la Zouch and 2 days from home.



WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?



As an Assistant Financial Accountant, you will assist the team with daily cashbook posting of payments, receipts and investigating open items, including unallocated cash. You will ensure accuracy and consistency of balance sheet accounts, verifying and matching balances with underlying records, including balance sheet reconciliation.



You will support with the management of staff expenses from administering and maintaining fuel cards and systems, preparing monthly expense payment runs to calculating and posting month end accruals.



In addition, you will also support the team with the completion and submission of the Office of National Statistics surveys as required ensuring accuracy and support the wider team with additional tasks and ad-hoc projects.



WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?



To be successful in your application you will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and behaviours:



Previous experience in financial accounting ideally within a high volume, fast-paced environment.

Studying or holds an AAT qualification.

Proven experience with bank reconciliation and posting journals.

Proficient in IT, experienced in using MS Excel.

Strong communications skills, both written and verbal.

Team Player with the ability to build strong working relationships.

Excellent attention to detail with a natural problem-solving mindset.



Desirable skills:

(not essential)



Currently studying ACCA, CIMA or ACA

Experienced in using employee expenses systems.

Knowledge of JDE, Hermes, or Cargowise

Proven experience of working within a third-party environment.
