Assistant Financial Accountant (Fixed Term)




Circa 40k per annum plus excellent benefits

As an Assistant Financial Accountant, you'll play a key part in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting period-end close activities, managing balance sheet reconciliations, and contributing to both statutory accounts and Department for Transport (DfT) reporting.


Key Responsibilities:




Financial Accounting & Period-End Close




Support period-end close activities in line with strict timelines Prepare and post journals and assist in producing balance sheet and cashflow statements Review trial balance and key accounts for accuracy and completeness

Balance Sheet Reconciliation




Prepare reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts Develop a clear understanding of account movements and document transaction flows Coordinate inputs from across the finance team to meet reporting deadlines

SAP Reconciliation & System Support




Support the reconciliation of semi-automated interfaces between systems and SAP Assist with process improvements and documentation of financial processes

Capital Expenditure




Monitor and review Capex against budgets, forecasts, and business plans Ensure accurate calculation and posting of depreciation and amortisation

Financial & Statutory Reporting




Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements in line with legal and regulatory standards Contribute to the production of periodic financial reports for submission to the DfT

Audit & Ad-Hoc Analysis




Support annual and interim audits Respond to ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests from management

What We're Looking For:




An ambitious self-starter with a minimum 1 to 2 years' experience in a Finance role Excellent inter-personal and communication skills Confident in Excel, MS Office; with SAP/SAP BI/SAP BPC an advantage Commenced study and studying towards CIMA or ACCA
