Assistant Financial Accountant

As Assistant Financial Accountant

, you'll play a key role in delivering an efficient and effective finance function across the Group.



This role will support the Group Financial Accountant in delivering an efficient and effective finance function, including preparing financial statements, coordinating balance sheet reconciliations, assisting with regulatory returns, driving service improvements, and supporting finance systems implementation and maintenance.

What you will be doing:





Support in the production of group and subsidiary financial statements and to assist in providing supporting schedules required to internal and external audit Support in the implementation and review of financial accounting systems for providing financial reporting to all departments as appropriate and within agreed time scales Assisting with the completion and monitoring of balance sheet reconciliations for debtors, creditors, bad debts and liaising with the wider Finance team to ensure timely completion of reconciliations Monthly payroll journal processing and liaise with various departments to confirm and complete monthly reconciliations Assist the implementation of appropriate financial controls, policies and procedures for the Group Assist the Group Financial Accountant in compiling information required for the production and submission of information for the regulator of social housing and other statutory returns, In particular QFR and FVA Assist in the provision of comprehensive sound financial information and advice to internal and external stakeholders. Support the business in understanding financial risk through the production of regular and meaningful performance management reports by collating and preparing relevant data and to prepare ad hoc financial and performance reports as required. Contribute to the maintenance and development of sound financial systems and processes in order to protect the Group and its resources and to ensure an optimised financial control environment.

What we are looking for:





Appropriate accountancy qualification, e.g. part qualified, AAT or equivalent Experience / knowledge of completing balance sheet reconciliations Have a track record of supporting operational services which have resulted in measurable business benefits High levels of IT literacy and an understanding of new ways of working

Interview process:





Candidates will undergo in-person interviews, consisting of a competency-based interview
