We are looking for an experienced Assistant Financial Accountant, to support with our operational objectives and deliver a high quality and cost-effective service within our Finance team.
Working with our Finance Manager, you will deliver best in class processes and continuous improvement in the control environment.
This is a 12 month fixed term contract, based 2 days a week in our Swindon office.

Your responsibilities will include:
Monitor cash position, complete daily cash reconciliations & monthly postings to GL
Completion of month end processes including journals, analysis and reconciliations
Undertake Platform Cash Control reconciliation, including queries and liaising with Payment Services
Reconcile & analyse balance sheet accounts on a regular basis ensuring any queries are investigated and resolved timely
Ownership of fixed asset accounting and annual verification process
Reconcile and post intercompany and intra-group transactions and prepare supporting documentation
Create and maintain successful relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Delivery of internal/external audit requirements
Respond to queries and issues arising in a timely and professional manner
Responsible for inputting and maintaining relevant areas of the Finance Function Manual and Finance Operating Procedures
Completion of ONS returns
Relevant ad hoc requests with the aim to support study and/or development

What will you need to succeed?
Part qualified or studying Accountant or qualified by experience
Experience of Microsoft Dynamics GP advantageous
Experience of working in a financial accounting role within a large organisation preferable
Deadline and task orientated
Experience of cash reconciliation useful
Understanding of accounting in a business environment
Professional manner; enthusiastic and positive attitude
Able to build relationships with key stakeholders
Strong Excel skills for data manipulation, analysis, modelling and reporting
Competent time management skills; able to prioritise, resource, and plan workload; able to take initiative when appropriate
Understanding of 'what good looks like' in Finance
