We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant / Financial Controller to support the finance function of our organisation. The successful candidate will assist with the preparation of accounts up to trial balance stage, manage payroll, oversee cash flow, and ensure accurate financial records are maintained. Experience within the construction sector would be advantageous but is not essential. This is a great opportunity for someone with solid accounting skills looking to further develop their career in a hands-on finance role.

8:00am - 5:00pm (42.5 hours per week)
Key Responsibilities
Assist in preparing accounts up to trial balance, including purchase, sales, and nominal ledgers.
Prepare and process payroll using Sage Payroll.
Run and manage a cash flow model to support financial planning.
Maintain accurate financial records using Sage and Excel.
Support day-to-day financial operations and month-end processes.
Develop and maintain an understanding of invoice finance facilities.
Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial procedures.
Requirements
Good working knowledge of Sage, Sage Payroll, Excel, and Word.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Experience in the construction sector preferred but not essential.
Positive, proactive approach with the ability to work well within a team.
Interviews scheduled for the last week of November. Planned start February 2026, or sooner if available
