As the Assistant Finance Controller, you will assist the Hotel Regional Finance Controller in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting monthly closings, and enhancing reporting processes. You will contribute to day-to-day financial management, providing insights to assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial compliance.

Responsibilities
Budgeting & Forecasting
Work closely with the RFCs and operational teams to support rolling forecasts and budgeting processes eg weekly financial reporting.
Provide insightful variance analysis on hotel performance, helping to explain deviations from forecasts and identify financial trends.
Accounts Payable & Receivable Support
Assist with the management of accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
Liaise with department heads to resolve outstanding issues and ensure smooth payment approval workflows.
Working with hotel teams to ensure debtors and creditors are maintained at an acceptable level.
Cost Control & Expense Management
Review expense reports, invoices, and cost allocations to ensure they align with the hotel's financial strategies.
Highlight opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiencies within hotel operations.
Liaising with the hotel management to ensure payroll efficiencies are maximised.
Compliance & Internal Controls
Assist in monitoring compliance with internal control procedures, hotel policies, and statutory requirements.
Support with audit preparation, providing accurate documentation and responding to audit queries as needed.
Financial Reporting
Month-End Reporting Packs: Assisting in completion of financial reports, including revenue reports, balance sheets, and profit and loss accounts.
Collaboration Across Departments: Work closely with operational teams, revenue managers, and senior finance leaders to ensure that month-end close processes are smooth, deadlines are met, and reporting is accurate.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Partner with hotel department heads and leadership teams to deliver financial insights and reporting that drive decision-making.
Support ad hoc financial reporting and data analysis requests as required by the business.
Operational & Environmental Controls
Support the day-to-day effective running of the finance function, maintaining high standards of accuracy and control.
Ensure procedures and policies are adhered to, providing a robust control environment.
To comply with statutory and Company requirements for Fire, Health and Safety, Food Safety, Risk Assessment, Licensing Laws, Disability and other employment legislation is strictly adhered to and ensure Team Members are trained accordingly.
To comply with your responsibilities under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 as detailed in the Fire Safety Management System, a copy of which can be found in each hotel.
Team Support
Support and development of team members across the business.
Support across the department as and when required. Eg holiday cover, sickness, etc.
Other
Take on ad hoc projects as required by the Regional Finance Controller to support growth and improvement initiatives.
Provide excellent internal and external customer service at all times.
Occasional travel to hotels within the cluster will be required. This is to support on-site financial reviews, assist with audits, collaborate with operational teams, and attend meetings or training sessions as needed.
Ensure effective time management to meet deadlines, operate IT systems in line with company standards, and adhere to all security, cash handling, and key control procedures.
Attend relevant training sessions and remain fully compliant with company and hotel policies, including those in the Team Member Handbook.
