Gareth and his team at Edwards Garden Design & Maintenance (est 1998) provide a garden maintenance service to private gardens and estates around Monmouthshire, The Wye Valley, The Forest of Dean, South Gloucestershire & Bristol region. We generally work in large estates and historic landscapes that can be both challenging and fulfilling. Our work encompasses both routine grounds maintenance and high standard horticultural practices.

Gareth is looking to add an Assistant Gardener to his current team, initially part-time with the ambition to develop the role into full-time as the workload increases. The work will encompass both routine grounds maintenance and high standard horticultural practices; our regular gardens featuring historic landscapes, orchards, kitchen gardens, family gardens, formal gardens and wildlife gardens.

This particular role will involve extensive work in a new vineyard, family garden & kitchen garden near Abergavenny as well as gardens closer to The Severn.

Responsibilities

Routine estate and garden maintenance tasks Extensive work in a newly established vineyard Weeding Pruning Strimming, brushcutting, mowing Orchard work Hedgecutting Planting and maintaining new plantings Working with a team, working independently Participate in landscape maintenance activities as needed. Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals efficiently.

Requirements

Experience in landscape maintenance or gardening preferred. Basic knowledge of plants, flowers, and trees Knowledge of irrigation techniques and plant care is essential. Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely. Strong attention to detail and a passion for working outdoors. Good physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor. Must have own transport as we cover a wide area

Pay: From 14.80 per hour
