Leadership and Strategy
Support the Headteacher in the overall leadership and management of the school.
Contribute to the development and implementation of the School Improvement Plan.
Lead by example in promoting the school's vision, values, and ethos.
Teaching and Learning
Drive high standards of teaching, learning, and pupil achievement across key stages.
Support staff development through coaching, mentoring, and professional learning.
Monitor and evaluate curriculum implementation and the quality of teaching.
Behaviour and Safeguarding
Support the development and implementation of behaviour policies and systems.
Promote high expectations for pupil behaviour, attendance, and engagement.
Uphold safeguarding procedures and act as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (if applicable).
Staff Management and Development
Line manage specific staff or departments as agreed with the Headteacher.
Contribute to performance management processes and staff recruitment.
Encourage a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Community and External Relations
Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and the wider school community.
Represent the school in meetings, networks, and partnerships as required.
Operational and Administrative Duties
Oversee aspects of school administration, assessment, or timetabling, depending on role focus.
Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Person Specification:
Essential:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Proven leadership experience at middle or senior leadership level.
Strong understanding of curriculum development, pedagogy, and school improvement.
Ability to lead and inspire staff and pupils.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
Desirable:
NPQSL or other leadership qualifications.
Experience in leading safeguarding or inclusion.
