This part-time post is available from 17th August 2023 on a permanent basis.

Summary of the role:

The post holder will provide laboratory support for the Department of Clinical and Biomedical Sciences research and teaching laboratories in the Medical School and North Cloisters buildings at the St Luke\xe2\x80\x99s campus. The role holder will support academic staff and research students working in a suite of Class II research laboratories with facilities for tissue culture, microscopy, molecular biology, biochemistry and other research areas. In the teaching labs, the role holder will support academic staff in the delivery of undergraduate practical sessions in medical science, neuroscience, pharmacology, BMBS and Medical Imaging as part of a rota covering from 08.30am until 18.30. This is a hands on role in a staff and student-facing environment.

This is a part time position (0.8 FTE/ 29.2 hours per week). Working hours will be flexible but agreed in line with the lab requirements for support.

Organisational context:

The Research Services Division is a key enabler to the delivery of the University\xe2\x80\x99s Strategy 2030, the Research and Impact Strategy, successful REF performances, and meeting research income targets.

This role is within the Technical Services part of the Division. We are research and teaching technical staff across the entirety of the University of Exeter. We work in specialist areas across the University and beyond, undertaking and supporting research and teaching and promoting compliance and best practice, in the labs, studios, workshops, and field.

The service is comprised of a team of talented individuals who support our teaching and research, and in training the next generation of top scientists.
