Job Summary


We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Management Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the accounting department by managing financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with various administrative tasks. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their skills in accounting and finance while contributing to the overall efficiency of our operations.

Duties



Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with relevant accounting standards to support Senior Management decision-making. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecast, providing valuable inputs to the strategic planning process. Deliver detailed variance analysis, comparing actual results against budgets and forecasts and provide insightful commentary to key stakeholders to drive performance improvements. Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including account reconciliations, journal postings, accruals and prepayments, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting. Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, ensuring accurate recording of income, supplier invoices and all financial transactions in line with accounting standards. Perform thorough bank reconciliations, promptly identifying and resolving discrepancies to maintain complete and accurate financial records. Maintain the fixed asset register, overseeing asset additions, disposals and monthly depreciation calculations ensuring proper account treatment. Process payroll journals, loan entries and interest postings, ensuring correct allocations within the general ledger and maintaining data accuracy. Contribute to the enhancement and streamlining of financial systems and processes, driving efficiency and improving reporting accuracy. Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting by working closely with the Financial Controller and incorporating their feedback into final reports.

Requirements



Proactive, precise and organised; strong Excel skills Strong numerical skills and attention to detail are crucial for accuracy in financial reporting. Familiar with accounting basics (or eager to learn) Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
