We are growing and want you with us! Bolton Cares Group is the largest provider of social care in Bolton and is growing its presence within Salford and Wigan. We are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance department.
Your role will be to support the organisation in achieving financial sustainability and value for money by providing accurate cost analysis, budgetary control, and financial insight. The Assistant Management Accountant will play a key role in identifying cost-saving opportunities, improving financial efficiency, and supporting strategic decision-making.

About the role:
Being an Assistant Management Accountant you job will include but not limitied to monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators related to cost efficiency and financial performance, holding monthly budget meetings with Registered Managers and Budget Holders to review financial performance and discuss variances, collaborating with operational teams to understand service delivery models and identify opportunities for cost optimisation, and developing and maintaining cost accounting systems and processes to ensure accurate allocation of costs across services and departments.
Experience and skills required:
You must hold or be working towards a Professional Accounting qualification or equivalent experience
Proven experience in cost accounting, management accounting, or financial analysis
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent Excel and Finanacial modelling skills
Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
Experience with PS Financials or Sage is desirable
Understanding of commissioning, service costing, or unit costing in a care environment is desirable

You will have proven experience of working in a fast-paced environment, often working on many tasks with tight deadlines and understand how your role contributes to building and retaining trust from all your colleagues.
You will have excellent communication skills, being a visible contact connecting with internal colleagues at all levels and a representative of the wider finance team.
You will be self-motivated and able to work under pressure in a busy but friendly environment. You will be organised and able to prioritise your workload to ensure all deadlines are met.
