Role Overview
The Assistant Management Accountant will support the Finance Director in delivering timely and accurate management accounts, financial analysis, and business insight. The successful candidate will be involved in budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and month-end processes, playing a key role in supporting operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
Help produce budgets and forecasts in collaboration with departmental managers.
Monitor and analyse key financial metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
Assist in the development of processes and structure for the new Freight Forwarding Business.
Prepare journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
Prepare entries and reconciliations for Inter-Company accounts
Work with the wider business to support financial decision-making with robust analysis.
Continually identify opportunities to improve financial systems, processes, and reporting.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Part-qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA).
2+ years of relevant experience in a management accounting or finance role.
Strong Excel skills; experience with contemporary Finance systems
Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
Adaptable and willing to get involved with day-to-day processing
Commercially aware with strong communication skills to liaise effectively across departments.
Proactive and self-motivated with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Desirable
Experience in the Logistics industry.
Familiarity with iplicit
Experience supporting process improvement or system implementations.
