Our Finance team has a fantastic opportunity for a Assistant Management Accountant to join them in Salford.



Our role




Provide accounting support to the Management Accounts function to ensure the preparation of accurate and robust financial reports for the Electricity North West Group


Delivering excellent transactional management accounting and standardised reporting to the Electricity North West business.


Support the financial control structure of the Group.

Key Responsibilities



Posting of the business journals & reconciliations into SAP/Corporate reporting system during the month end Provide support for the regulatory reporting process, where necessary. Preparation of monthly control account reconciliations Accountable for ensuring technical accounting knowledge is kept up to date and all new accounting standards and legislation have been assessed and implemented to ensure external reporting that is compliant and to the highest possible quality. Provide support for the purchase requisition creation and Goods Receipting for the Finance directorate Provide support for the overall group finance function on an ad-hoc basis. Preparation of monthly control accounts for the Group. Undertake ad-hoc investigation into areas of uncertainty or concern.

Who we're looking for



AAT qualified or part qualified in ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent Experience in an established finance function Experience of the financial month and year end process, Preparation & collation of monthly control account reconciliations along with oversight of the intercompany accounting process Provide support for the purchase requisition creation and Goods Receipting for the Finance directorate Ad-Hoc support to the Group Finance Manager and Finance Business Partners Ability to follow established processes and seek to develop and improve these where appropriate Excellent attention to detail (Essential) Ability to communicate effectively with all members of the organisation (Essential) Self-starter with excellent organisational skills (Essential) Demonstrate a flexible approach and adaptability in terms of dealing with task and associated deadlines (Essential) Strong analytical skills ability to understand and explain variances, underlying trends (Desirable) Experience of a large organisation preferably in a regulated environment (Desirable) SAP experience (Desirable)
