Assistant Management Accountant Job

With a European turnover of up to 20 million, the Finance team in Preston is responsible for producing individual entity accounts and their consolidation. This Assistant Management Accountant will report directly to the experienced Management Accountant, who also leads the team.

In this job as Assistant Management Accountant, you will take charge of monthly reporting, journals, fixed assets, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations. You'll also support VAT returns, management accounts, audits, cashbooks and credit card expenses, while stepping in to help the ledger teams when needed. It's a varied role where you'll get involved in everything from the day-to-day detail to ad-hoc analysis, keeping the finance function running smoothly.

This job is a development opportunity to directly step into the management accountant role and beyond, which will see you prepare full management accounts and consolidation.

The requirements

You must be AAT qualified or equivalent (degree) with the desire to progress and develop your experience. You must have a strong basis of experience in a finance team in a supporting role, ideally with management accounts exposure. You must be determined, have a strong attention to detail, and self aware. You must have strong communication skills, with a team mentality
