Job Description

Job Purpose

To assist the Service Manager to manage the service in an efficient and effective manner. To ensure the implementation of Archway's philosophy, aims and objectives and Policies & Procedures both internally and in all dealings with other agencies.
Key Tasks

To assist and support the Service Manager to establish and maintain an effective working team, including responsibility for relief staff, volunteers and students. To promote models of good practice relating to the care of service users and their families. To provide an environment that offers care, encouragement and the development of self-management skills to each individual service user which takes account of his/her physical and emotional well-being and opportunities for choice. To take a person-centered approach in the development (in conjunction with staff) of care programs for service users. To work co-operatively with relatives, friends and professional colleagues concerned with each individual service user to establish as satisfactory quality of life as may be possible to achieve. To maintain effective communication and good working relationships with Archway staff at all levels, service users and their families and other professionals. To assist service Manager in planning and organizing all aspects of service administration (including respite dates). To assist the Service Manager in overseeing all aspects of the storage, administration and disposal of service users' prescribed medication. To participate in the recruitment and selection of staff. To assist the service manager in creating a cohesive staff team through efficient and effective organization as well as the training, development and supervision of staff To support staff in the development and understanding of their individual roles within the service, their professional responsibilities and authority. To ensure health and safety of service users and staff and adhere to relevant Policies and Procedures. To adhere to all relevant policies, procedures and legislation as well as the SSSC Codes of Practice. Work in accordance with Archway's Mission, Values, Aims and Objectives. To undertake, as necessary, caring duties concurrent with daily living. To support and maintain co-operative local community and professional relationships relevant to the maintenance of service identity. To regularly evaluate and review, in conjunction with the service Manager, the provision of care within the service and to contribute to the forward planning of appropriate developments. To undertake any other tasks as required and delegated by manager and senior managers. To work as part of the rota, as necessary, to achieve any or all aspects of the role as Assistant service Manager.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 29,728.16-33,203.27 per year
