The Role
The Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting all aspects of the business in conjunction with the General Manager. They must oversee service standards, operational efficiency, guest experience and staff retention. Including day-to-day team management, an Assistant Manager is also an ambassador for the Citi Terrace brand and fully embraces our ethos, supports staff and guest experience. As an Assistant Manager, you are an influential leader to all departments that tell our story, deliver service, create culture, maximise profits, support operations, and guest satisfaction. The Assistant Manager works very closely with the rest of the management team to ensure standards are met for excellent service, creative development, financial budgets and targets, day-to-day operations, recruitment & training with the ultimate goal to optimise performance and profitability. Subject to fulfilling this role with great ambition and attitude, there is potential to grow from this position and transition to General Manager.
Main Duties
- Effective communication with senior management and members of the team
- Work closely with the General Manager to assess and develop operational goals based off weekly, monthly and quarterly business performance reviews
- Execute action plans on time and budget to support business improvements and focus on optimising profit, maximizing margins and promote exceptional experience for our guests
- Adhere to company policies for food safety, allergy procedure and creating an overall safe and inviting space for guests
- Implement innovative opportunities that efficiently drive sales and staff/member retention through HR, recruitment & training
- Influential leader and decision maker that supports, guides, develops and implements policies, procedure and systems to improve business operations, service, retention and over all experiences that have been outlined by the General Manager
- Assist with creating weekly rotars, setting sales targets, cashing up procedure, dealing with customer complaints, handling large group bookings
Preferred Skills:
Three years experience in a similar fast paced and trendy restaurant & bar
A motivated and driven individual with an eye for detail
Excellent customer service skills and leadership
Positive attitude
Presentable
Ability to work under pressure
Good understanding of finances, budgeting, sales targets, labour costs etc.
Creative development skills particularly to work with the F&B team to develop menus
Understand the importance of marketing through social media
