We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities
As an Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for the following:
Provide strong leadership and set clear expectations for your team.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement across the site.
Ensure all operatives are fit for work and wearing appropriate, clean PPE.
Manage team member conduct, including disciplinary procedures when necessary.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships with a focus on exceptional service standards.
Oversee the receipt of goods, ensuring:
IT files are received.
Staff are fully briefed on duties.
Product is scanned correctly.
Damages are documented and photographed.
Optimize workforce productivity by deploying staff efficiently, while maintaining labour costs (direct and agency) within budget.
Take full ownership of the blast freezer operations, including:
Proper loading procedures.
Programming running hours.
Weekly cleaning schedules.
Manage the storage process post-freezing: decanting, re-palletising, temperature checks, and scanning.
Oversee the efficient despatch of products, including preparation for loading and truck despatch.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, QMS, USDA, HACCP and all other regulatory standards.
Report required repairs promptly to the Maintenance Manager.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Complete all cleaning and quality records accurately and on time.
Carry out verification checks in the absence of the Manager.
Stand in for the Manager during periods of leave or absence.
Carry out any additional duties as required.
Skills & Experience
Essential
Demonstrated experience in managing people or leading teams in a production or operational environment
Strong communication and organisational skills
Comfortable using computer systems and basic IT tools (e.g. Microsoft Office, scanners)
Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
Able to manage people, workloads, and deadlines in a busy environment
Desirable
Training in First Aid or Fire Safety
Relevant qualifications in leadership or management
GCSE Maths and English (Grade C or above or equivalent)
