Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Manager to support the daily operations here at The Garden Gate. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food and beverage service, and a solid background in pub or restaurant enviroments. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee team performance, ensure exceptional customer service, and uphold high standards of food safety and quality. The Assistant Manager will be instrumental in maintaining smooth operations and fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring efficiency and high standards of service. Supervise and motivate team members, including front-of-house staff, kitchen personnel, and external engineers to deliver outstanding customer experiences. Coordinate food preparation and cooking activities to meet quality standards and customer expectations. Monitor food safety protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations at all times. Manage staff schedules, organise shifts, and oversee team management to optimise productivity. Support food production processes, including overseeing food presentation and ensuring consistency across dishes. Serve as a point of contact for customer queries or complaints, resolving issues promptly and professionally. Assist with inventory management, stock control, and ordering supplies as needed. Uphold hospitality standards by maintaining cleanliness, organisation, and a welcoming atmosphere within the premises.

Qualifications

Proven supervising experience within a restaurant, or hospitality setting. PUB EXPERIENCE if preferable. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively. Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety regulations. Experience in food production, kitchen operations, or culinary roles is highly desirable. Familiarity with restaurant service procedures including serving standards. Previous experience in hospitality roles such as barista work or hotel service is advantageous. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure. Strong communication skills and a professional demeanour.
