We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Manager to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a comprehensive understanding of restaurant and bar operations, including food preparation, cooking, and customer service. Responsibilities
Assist in overseeing daily restaurant and bar operations, ensuring high standards of service and efficiency
Supervise and support team members, including front-of-house staff such as servers and baristas, as well as kitchen personnel
Assist in administrative responsibilities across the business
Coordinate food preparation and cooking activities to meet quality standards and customer expectations
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across all areas
Manage staff schedules, delegate tasks effectively, and monitor performance to promote team development
Assist in training new employees in service procedures, food safety protocols, and hospitality best practices
Handle customer enquiries or complaints professionally, aiming to resolve issues promptly and satisfactorily
Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies as needed
Contribute to creating a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, leadership, and continuous improvement
Skills
Proven supervisory or team management experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
Experience in food production, kitchen operations, or hotel services is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of all bar operations including cellar and stock management.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide staff effectively
Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional communication skills to liaise confidently with team members and guests
Familiarity with restaurant or hospitality software systems.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and conflict resolution
Barista, mixology and a basic knowledge of wine is essential
