Role Summary
The Assistant Manager is a new key leadership position responsible for supporting the General Manager in the daily operations, administration, and performance of the venue & team. This role is crucial for ensuring exceptional customer experience, maintaining operational efficiency, and driving staff performance within our dynamic cuesports and leisure environment.
Working opposite shifts to the General Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining exceptional operational and performance standards across evening & weekend shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the management of all aspects of daily operations. Ensuring smooth running of the bar and general facilities, across evenings. To include weekends.
Act as a point of contact for customer inquiries, reservations, and complaints. Resolve issues quickly and professionally, ensuring a welcoming and positive atmosphere.
Stock Management:
Assist with inventory control, ordering, and receiving deliveries for consumables (e.g., beverages, snacks, merchandise). Monitor stock levels and minimize waste.
Supervisory and Team Leadership
Supervision of staff. Oversee and coordinate the activities of team members. Delegate tasks effectively and ensure all operational procedures are followed.
Training & Development:
Participate in the onboarding and training of new employees. Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to maintain high service standards.
Scheduling
: Assist the General Manager in creating and managing staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for peak and off-peak times.
Performance & Discipline: Support the General Manager in conducting performance reviews, managing staff attendance, and addressing minor disciplinary matters in accordance with company policy.
Compliance
: Ensure the venue operates in full compliance with all relevant health & safety, licensing, and employment laws.
Required Qualities and Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory or Management role, within a customer facing environment is essential. Applications not matching this criteria cannot be considered.
Leadership
Ability to inspire and motivate a team, fostering a positive work environment and leading by example during busy periods. Must be driven, show passion for the role and fully engage in the outlook and direction of the business.
Problem-Solving
Proven track record of quickly identifying and resolving operational, customer, or staffing issues under pressure.
Accountability
Takes full ownership of responsibilities and delegates tasks clearly, ensuring team members understand their roles and targets.
Communication
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting clearly with team members, management, and customers.
Time Management
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications
3 years experience in a supervisory or management role within the hospitality, retail, or leisure sector is essential.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required by the nature of the leisure business.
A passion for or understanding of cuesports (pool, snooker, etc.) or similar competitive/social leisure activities is highly desirable but not essential.

Pay: 13.00-14.72 per hour
