Where?
Llancarfan is an idyllic village in the heart of a coastal county, the Vale of Glamorgan. The pub sits along the river just along from the ford. Only 20 minutes from Cardiff.
The Role
An AM who can lead the pub team and work alongside the owner. The business needs someone hands on who's happy to take on any situation and any role in the business. We're a small team and the management is involved in all aspects of the business from managing the profit margins and running a busy restaurant service.
The pub sits 60 covers and serves top quality produce from Wales, the service is not pretensions, it's friendly with a professional edge. We aim to anticipate our guests needs and add small touches to create memorable experiences.
The pub has 8 bedrooms which are due to be renovated and we offer a tasty breakfast for our guests.
At the heart of the business is our team, we're looking for a real people person who's not only passionate about taking care of our guests but also the team. Our team comes first, and we aim to train and retain.
Who we're looking for?
Someone with a passion and deep knowledge of food, wine and hospitality with extensive experience in busy pub, restaurant or hotel environments.
You must be able to lead and train a team with positivity to ensure they execute the service standards required.
We want someone who cares for the team and unites all departments to ensure they all work in harmony. This could mean the odd tough discussion that should be approached with sensitivity and an open mind.
We're looking for someone who delivers quality service to our guests consistently.
Someone who's proactive and anticipates problems and guest needs
Knowledge of food hygiene is essential.
You must be able to handle pressured situations
You should be a hands-on manager and be able to turn your hand to any position front of house
Being organised and keeping on top of your admin is essential

Duties include
Managing the day to day running of the business to a high standard
Ensure our service and hospitality is the best it can be
Maintain guest relations
Ensure stock levels are maintained
Manage the food and health and safety compliance to a high standard
Guest and supplier correspondence
Disposable and wet stock takes
Cash handling and banking
Back office till management
Team training
Booking system management for the restaurant and hotel
Addressing staff issues discreetly
Addressing customer complaints professionally and in a timely manner
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: 13.50-17.50 per hour
Expected hours: 35 - 45 per week
