We are looking for the next generation of Managers who are passionate about the hospitality industry and progressing their career to join our team. As an Assistant Manager, we expect the usual stuff on a day-to-day basis, running your site in style and supporting your senior management team to meet site targets and team goals. In return our General Manager will invest time and energy towards helping you to push your career to the next stage, whatever that looks like for you.


To be eligible for this role, you will need to demonstrate confidence in leading the Front of House team. You must drive service and sales, and be the constant face of energy and passion on site! Strong experience in supporting a busy team, and a 'work with the team' approach/attitude at all times. You must have at least 1-2 years experience in a similar fast paced coffee led environment with exceptional barista skills. preferably you will have held the position of head barista in previous roles although this is not essential. You will have a complete understanding of the equipment and the beans, a keen eye for detail and a passion for quality coffee.


We use La Marzocco Linea PB machines and Mahlkonig E65s and E80 Supreme Espresso Grinders so knowledge of dialling in, maintaining machines & close down is essential.


Role Responsibilities:

Support the management team in the running of a high volume & fast-paced coffee shop Responsible for opening and closing of site in absence of General Manager Possess full understanding of GRIND Steps of Service Deliver exemplary service in line with our procedures Effectively lead a busy team of Front of House employees Open and close down set up of all coffee sections Dose, steam and texture to the correct temperature the correct amount of milk for a busy service with minimal wastage Pour advanced latte art (rosettas, multi-stage tulips) Keep coffee section clean at all times and report issues with espresso equipment to Coffee Maintenance team Understand all of our current coffees, including tasting notes, and recipes Manage and maintain all coffee, milk & tea stock levels and communicate any stock shortages with the Manager on site Ensure all stock is rotated and clearly labelled in compliance with H&S procedures Complete or delegate weekly stock take operations & cost sheets Help to deliver training to all team members Support in the recruitment and onboarding of new employees into the business Motivate all staff and project a positive attitude at all times. To participate in regular team meetings and in necessary Management meetings. To abide by the house rules at all times Displays a smart and professional appearance, representing the company in a positive manner


Skills Required:

Strong managerial and leadership skills Exceptional barista skills Possess excellent communication skills to enable effective dialogue with colleagues and customers Ability to work well under pressure and use initiative Ability to problem solve and escalate complaints accordingly Dedicated team-player, who strives for excellence and leads by example Strong time-management and prioritisation skills
