Job Overview


We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of The Wilmington. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid background in food and drinks service, and experience in supervising teams within a restaurant, or similar environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to delivering exceptional customer experiences while managing a busy gastropub environment. The Assistant Manager will play a key part in a premium guest focussed environment, maintaining high standards of food safety, quality, and team management. We would also expect a possession of excellent bar and drinks service skills.

Responsibilities



Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring smooth service delivery. Have skills in promoting the best of guest experiences, our guests are our focus. Supervise and motivate team members, including front-of-house staff, as well as kitchen personnel involved in food production and preparation. Support food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining high standards of culinary excellence. (our people are proud of The Wilmington, you should be too) Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all departments. Manage staffing schedules, organise training sessions, and oversee team performance to optimise productivity. Handle customer enquiries and resolve any issues promptly to uphold excellent service standards. Assist with inventory management, stock control, and ordering supplies as needed. Contribute to menu planning and development in collaboration with the culinary team. Support the implementation of health and safety procedures within the establishment.

Requirements



Proven supervising experience within a hospitality setting. Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices. Experience in team management with excellent leadership qualities. Knowledge of food production processes and kitchen operations. Previous experience in serving or hospitality roles is highly desirable. Familiarity with gastropub management systems is advantageous. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure. A proactive approach to problem-solving and customer service excellence. Relevant hospitality qualifications are preferred but not essential. Pay: 32,000.00-37,500.00 per year
