We're looking for a confident and motivated
Assistant Manager
to lead from the front at a high-performing trade department. You'll be responsible for team performance, customer satisfaction, and driving daily sales activity--all while making sure operations run smoothly and efficiently.
What you'll be doing:
Leading and motivating the trade sales team to meet targets and deliver exceptional service
Supporting the delivery of the store's sales plan and boosting performance through upselling and customer engagement
Creating quotes, following up on leads, and converting enquiries into sales
Overseeing key daily tasks: stock, paperwork, deliveries, cash handling, and customer service
Designing kitchens and bathrooms using in-store CAD software
Being a hands-on leader--resolving issues, supporting team development, and leading by example
Acting as a keyholder and taking responsibility for store opening/closing when required
Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and performance management within the team
We're looking for someone who:
Has experience leading a team in a trade, retail or customer-facing environment
Brings strong communication and people skills
Can coach and develop others while staying commercially focused
Has solid organisation and attention to detail
Ideally comes from a trade, builder's merchant or hardware background--but others also considered
Is flexible and able to drive to site for early shifts
