The Yew Tree is landmark pub opposite the Capitol Retail Park on the busy A6 leading into Preston City Centre. It has been operated by MSR Pubs for over 12 years and continues to be a popular family and food orientated pub.

Salary is based on an average working week of 44-48 hours a week and paid at an hourly rate plus tips share. On/off shift discounts are available.

What are we looking for from you?

You must be a "pub person" and enjoy the atmosphere and the demands that come with leading a team in a great, well established business, with a smile and a "can do" attitude always in place. Must be fully flexible in terms of availability (able to work key dates such as Christmas/New Year/weekends and Bank Holidays). At least 2 years supervisory experience in a busy food focused outlet - including experience as a key holder. Currently hold or be able to hold, a Personal License. Driving license would be preferable, but not essential. Due to the nature of the business, experience within a fresh food-based kitchen team is essential as you may be tasked with kitchen shifts from time to time. You'll need to have a professional attitude, be IT literate and have a basic understanding of the key financial & compliance aspects of pub operations - cellar management, wage controls, Health & Safety, social media etc. We will give you the necessary tools and support to deliver this. Must be able to provide good references.
What are your responsibilities?

You'll assist the Directors of company who have a day to day, hands on involvement in the operation of business. You'll also along with the rest of the management team be tasked in managing the day to day operation of a busy pub - food and drink service, managing bookings & events, stock and cash control etc. You'll be looking to learn and develop your skills at every opportunity, and you'll deputise in the Director's absence and cover holidays too. You'll strive to ensure all the team delivers a consistent and fantastic customer experience that can only drive the business forward! We need someone self-motivated and willing to throw themselves into their work and stand proud and confident in your achievements!! You'll be expected to be seen leading by example and there will undoubtedly be challenges along the way so you'll need to be able to quickly evaluate and chose the necessary actions to overcome them.
