We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food preparation and culinary experience, along with excellent leadership and team management skills. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our establishment while delivering exceptional service to our guests.
Duties
Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient food production and preparation.
Participate in cooking and food preparation, demonstrating culinary skills to maintain quality and presentation.
Manage inventory levels, placing orders for supplies as necessary while minimising waste.
Train new employees on restaurant policies, procedures, and best practices in hospitality.
Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration among staff members.
Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction at all times.
Maintain knowledge of menu items, including ingredients and preparation methods, to assist staff and customers effectively.
Skills
Proven experience in a supervisory role within the restaurant or hospitality industry.
Strong culinary skills with a background in food preparation and cooking.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for kitchen operations.
Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on team management and development.
Effective communication skills to interact with staff, customers, and suppliers.
Experience in serving and front-of-house operations is advantageous.
Familiarity with barista duties or hotel experience would be beneficial but not essential.
