We are looking for a passionate and driven Assistant Manager to join our management team to work with us in pushing our business further.
About us:
We took over the management of the Hind's Head July 2023. Being independently run now, we create our own menus, choose our drinks selection and develop our own drinks and cocktails ourselves.
We have an excellent team here, all whom are passionate and driven to maintain the standards and quality of food and service we have worked so hard for.
As a hotel we serve breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner.
Working at the Hind's Head is a very varied role - as well as standard lunch and dinner service in our restaurant we also host special nights such as Quiz, Music Bingo, Tapas nights and other events like car meets and outdoor cinema nights. There really is a lot of things to get excited about here and you can get involved in sharing ideas for the planning and running of new events!
About the role:
Flexible hours - the advertised wage would be for full time work. Part time hours may be available for the right candidate. Whilst we can be flexible on hours ideally we are looking for someone that can be very flexible with shift times as the business is very diverse and doesn't always follow the same patterns as other venues!
Creative ability - we do all of our marketing, menu design and drink creation in house. We would love someone that is also passionate about this to get involved!
We are incredibly flexible with areas of expertise - if you are passionate about the hotel, we can focus your work more on the hotel, or if you love the bar and drinks creation, we can do that too! From marketing, to DIY, to gardening - we want you to love your role and will do all we can to make that the case!
Pay is entirely depending on experience.
Requirements:
Being computer literate is very important as a lot of our systems including bookings and hotel are computer based.
There are a lot of protocols in place (preparation is key!), so a fast learner would be great that can pick up reservations, event protocols and hotel reservations quickly.
A real passion for the industry is a must - the Hind's Head is very loved and we would like someone who shares this passion.
Excellent customer service is essential.
Being able to mentor and train new staff.
Strong communication skills.
We are a very busy venue with a small, close knit team. Strong organisational skills are necessary as well as a calm exterior during busier services.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities can be flexible depending on your strengths and interests but the below are the basics.
Preparing and running a smooth service is essential.
Working with us to get all the relevant information for upcoming events.
Daily check ins for the hotel.
Communicating with housekeeping when required to ensure the rooms are set appropriately for the day ahead.
Accurately taking bookings on our booking system.
Conduct daily room checks to ensure standards meet our expectations.
Other tasks may include line cleaning, fire alarm checks, invoice uploading, stock ordering etc.
Substantial experience in a supervisory position
at least
is crucial to this role. If you have been a supervisor for some time and are looking to take the jump further into management, this could be perfect for you!
