A unique opportunity to work with a brand new concept coming on the High Street. We are looking for an Assistant Manager to work in the new Family Entertainment Centre that is now open in Reading. With bar and food alongside a fantastic amusement arcade, Karaoke, Pool, Augmented Reality Darts, VR and much more. You must have the following skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Management:
- Assist the General Manager in the daily operations of the bar and other attractions including amusement arcade and AR Darts, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
- Help manage inventory, including ordering and receiving supplies, and ensuring optimal stock levels.
- Oversee the site setup, including cleanliness and organisation, before and after service.
2. Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests, taking orders, and addressing any concerns or feedback.
- Ensure that all staff members deliver high-quality service and maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
3. Staff Supervision:
- Assist in training and mentoring customer service staff and kitchen team members on service standards, beverage preparation, and food pairing.
- Schedule shifts, manage costs, and assist in performance evaluations of staff.
4. Menu Development:
- Collaborate with the Bar Manager and kitchen staff to develop and innovate beverage and food menus, ensuring they align with customer preferences and seasonal trends.
- Monitor food and drink presentations to ensure quality and consistency.
5. Health & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations both in the bar and kitchen areas.
- Conduct regular inspections and enforce proper food handling and alcohol service protocols.
6. Financial Management:
- Assist in managing the sites budget, tracking sales, and minimising waste.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a bar environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a food environment.
- Minimum of 2 years in a leadership role.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of beverage preparation, as well as food safety and handling.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
- Proficient in inventory management and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
