About This Opportunity



We're a small team in the Commercial Banking 1st Line Economic Crime Prevention (ECP) function. We handle Sanctions risk across Business & Commercial Banking (BCB) & Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) clients.


The remainder of the team have responsibility for conducting enhanced due diligence on new and existing Correspondent Banking and Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) relationships. We're highly collaborative and encourage innovation, to be best in class among our peer banks!


What You'll Be Doing



You'll conduct risk assessments on customers believed to have a connection to sanctioned countries/entities and make recommendations to senior management for approval. As a subject matter expert, you'll keep abreast of industry developments and regulation, sharing information across appropriate teams within the division.

What You'll Need



You'll need to show a passion for the subject matter and keeping abreast of the global Sanctions landscape as well as knowledge or a keenness to learn about the intricacies of KYC, and payments, alongside these essentials:


Proven ability to investigate and assess sanctions risk. Track record in coordinating work in order to achieve expectations and follow established timelines. Partner management skills, to collaborate closely with Coverage and ECP colleagues. Experience and technical knowledge in an ECP role. Knowledge of, or a passion to learn about, KYC and international/domestic payment mechanisms.

And Any Experience of These Would Be Really Useful



Coaching skills and track record of personal development. Experience of reviews involving Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) Experience in the design and implementation of a compliance programme while ensuring adherence to regulatory and compliance standards. Ability to identify shortcomings, then suggest and implement improvements to existing business practices.
