We are The Red Gecko - designers, importers and retailers of jewellery, art and homewares from Bali. We were established in 2004 and have 4 boutique style stores in the Lake District and Brighton. Our products, staff and stores have an abundance of personality and we believe in adding value for our customers by offering unique products and a fabulous shopping experience both in our stores and online.
Who are you?
A confident individual who thrives as part of a small dedicated team. Someone who has fabulous customer service experience, not necessarily in retail, who goes the extra mile for their customers and loves to work in a fast paced, busy environment. A sense of fun and approachable personality that will benefit our customer service style - service with a smile. An interest or background in art, interiors, textiles or fashion would be well suited to this role along with a 'can do' philosophy. Being part of a small team you will need to be multi-skilled, adaptable and able to turn your hand to assist with all aspects of the business.
About the position...
Being an integral part of a small team and the day to day running of all of our Lake District stores. Including working in either our Bowness, Grasmere or Keswick store, or in our warehouse and office based in Bowness.
Working across all 3 stores, sometimes helping out in busy times with another staff member, but mainly working by yourself in one of the stores or in our warehouse.
Assisting with our online orders including processing, packing and dispatch.
Providing cover for the Warehouse Manager when they are on leave by making store deliveries with our company van.
Offering our customers an exceptional shopping experience through a bright, positive, welcoming personality
Assisting with stock management and control
Using Shopify Point of Sale system
Implementing seasonal sales promotions
Receiving large and heavy stock deliveries
Making our stores shine! This could be anything from repainting the floors and walls, decoupaging our counter or even upcycling a piece of display furniture.
40 hours per week
5 days per week including weekends (1 weekend off per monthly rota)

Love working in a small team environment, but also thrive when it's just you!
Ability to handle large and heavy deliveries
Love being busy and on your feet all day!
Super flexible and will give anything a go.
Drivers license and ability to drive a van, but this is preferable, but not essential.
